Silicone Scar Therapy for Hands.

Silicone scar treatment is the preferred choice for preventing and treating scars. It is the only non-invasive scar treatment supported by strong scientific evidence, making it a safe, effective, and easy-to-use option for ongoing scar care.

Scarban Silicone Gloves are designed to support effective scar management across the entire hand by helping to regulate collagen production and reduce moisture loss (TEWL). This creates an optimal healing environment that promotes flatter, softer, and less irritated scars over time. With consistent use, the gloves can help relieve itching, discomfort, and tightness while reducing scar thickness, redness, and discoloration, and improving overall texture so scars become smoother and more elastic.

They may also assist in preventing the formation of hypertrophic and keloid scars. Lightweight, flexible, and breathable, the gloves are comfortable for extended daily wear and can be easily worn under work gloves, splints, or clothing, making them practical for use during rehabilitation. For best results, they can be used alongside occupational therapy, splinting, or pressure garments as part of a comprehensive hand therapy program.

How to use Scarban Silicone Gloves.

Step 1: Put cream on the hand

Start by applying a thin layer of cream to the hand, focusing especially on the fingers and any areas requiring treatment. A medical-grade cream such as ALHYDRAN is recommended to help hydrate the skin and improve comfort. This step allows the silicone glove to slide on more easily, reducing friction during application while also supporting the effectiveness of the scar therapy.

Step 2: Put on the Scarban silicone glove

Before putting on the glove, fold the cuff outward to make application easier. Gently guide your hand into the glove, carefully pulling each finger section into place using slow back-and-forth movements. This helps ensure a snug and even fit across the entire hand. Once the glove is fully in position, fold the cuff back down to secure it comfortably and maintain proper contact with the skin.

Step 3: How to remove the silicone glove

To remove the glove, begin by folding the cuff outward. Then, gently pull at the fingertips and slowly work the glove off the hand. Take care to remove it gradually to avoid unnecessary pulling or irritation to the skin. Proper removal helps maintain comfort and preserves the integrity of both the glove and the treated skin.

Clinically supported therapy

Scars on the hands and fingers can impact both appearance and everyday function. Medical-grade silicone is widely used in scar management to help minimise the formation of thick, raised scars. It works by maintaining optimal hydration and providing gentle, consistent pressure, creating an environment that supports smoother, more flexible healing. For this reason, silicone sheets, gels, and finger caps are commonly used by burn units and hand therapists as part of comprehensive scar care.

The effectiveness of silicone therapy is well supported by scientific evidence, which is why it has become a preferred choice in professional scar treatment. Medical silicone sheets are widely recommended by healthcare professionals for their safety, ease of use, and proven ability to improve scar appearance over time.
